There are a lot of different reasons you may want to try and control the temperature on your vape pen. You could be trying to flesh out some of the different flavors from your chosen vape juice or concentrate. You could be attempting to try a new substance for vaping altogether. It could even be as simple as trying to get a normal amount of vapor to come out of a new cartridge or new accessory. Whatever the reason, trying to adjust the temperature on your vape pen is something all vape pen owners will at least think about.
So, how do you control the temperature on your vape pen? It depends on the vape pen, of course! Some vape pens come with pre-set settings that you can choose from (like low, medium, or high) and you simply choose between the three. Others have a variable range that you can choose from using a dial, buttons, or even a touch screen. Other vape pens do not offer the choice to alter the temperature at all. The more you get to know your vape pen, the better the understanding you will have in exactly how you can customize the available options.
Much like controlling the temperature on a vape pen, the best vaping temperatures will differ widely depending on exactly what you are vaping as well as the specific kind of experience you are trying to achieve. In general, high temperatures give you more vapor and harsher hits. Low temperatures will not provide as much vapor but usually will offer smoother, more gentle tastes.
The ideal method of finding the best vaping temperature is through the process of trial and error with different temperature settings on your pen. However, if your pen has limited temperature settings (or no temperature settings at all), you may be left disappointed with the kind of experience your pen can offer.
As we have mentioned, this will largely come down to a matter of preference. E-juice does not need as high of a temperature as other substances to create big clouds of vapor. However, the general rule still applies. The higher the temperature, the larger the vape cloud but the harsher the flavor. The lower the temperature, the less visible the vapor is but the smoother the taste will be. Generally, 400-500F is the normal range for vaping e-juice, but that can be adjusted depending on your preference. If you're using a box mod vape, the suggested wattage is between 1 watt and 60 watts. It really depends on the type of hit you want to get from your box mod.
The story is the same with dry herbs, as well. However, dry herbs are able to be vaped at a lower temperature than other substances, especially if you are looking to bring out more of the subtle flavor notes. Higher temperature vaping for dry herbs will release more of the chemical compounds found in whatever you happen to be vaping. The typical vaping range for dry herbs is 325F - 450F, though this can vary depending on exactly what you are looking for.
Waxes and other concentrates enjoy a much larger range of temperatures than other substances. The general rule of temperature still applies to them (high temperatures are harsh, large clouds, low temperatures are thinner clouds with more flavor), but they can go much higher in the temperature range. The low end of wax vaping is 325F, but the high-end can be as high as 900F. It all depends on how much flavor or how much vapor you want to be able to enjoy. If you are wanting to experiment with the differences provided by varying temperatures, make sure your wax pen can be adjusted. Many wax pens either have very limited variances offered or sometimes none at all.
If you have read this far, you probably are already starting to get a feel for what the benefits are. A vape pen with temperature control allows you to have unique experiences without having to switch out whatever you are vaping. It also lets you try a large variety of different substances in their ideal temperature range.
Regardless of the kind of temperature control vape pen you have, the following are some useful tips on using and maintaining your device:
This is especially true if you are using a box mod or a vape pen that offers really high heat options. Starting high right off the bat can burn whatever you are vaping, and it can even overload cartridges and ruin products. Nothing can ruin a day more than getting ready to vape a pre-filled cartridge only to immediately burn out its circuits.
If you have struggled with vaping certain products because of an unpleasant, harsh flavor, then consider lowering the temperature settings. If your pen does not allow for temperature control, consider getting a new vape pen!
Many vaping enthusiasts enjoy making big vape clouds, and higher temps are ideal for this. Just remember that a higher temperature setting will create a harsher tasting hit. Depending on the materials your heating coils are made out of, you may not need to repeatedly power the device to take a hit. If the taste of the vapor is becoming too harsh, give the heating coils time to cool before taking another hit.
These are interchangeable terms that refer to the same key characteristic: the ability to alter the temperature at which your product is vaped. A variable voltage pen means that the amount of power a pen puts out can be adjusted, and it is that power that raises the temperature. There are a couple of terms used for what is essentially the same feature. You may see volts, watts, or temperature listed as a feature that can be adjusted. These all refer to changing the heat setting of the vape pen you are using.
With all this talking about how good a feature temperature control is, we would be remiss if we did not give you a couple of great options to choose from! Consider the following if you are in the market for a new temperature control vape pen:
This is a fantastic vape pen if you are looking for a dry herb vaping option with a full range of heating options. Not only does the E-CLIPSE dry herb vaporizer offer that, but it heats extremely quickly and the body of the vape is small and discrete. It makes a great travel partner, too!
This is an ideal vape pen if you like using 510 threaded cartridges. Optimized for skinny cartridges, the SteamCloud EVOD offers a great range of heating options for a model that is small and inexpensive. Simply twist the dial found at the bottom of the pen to experience a range of different tastes.
If you want a vape pen that is designed with several vaping products in mind, the SteamCloud MICRO is a great fit. Also designed to accommodate 510 threaded cartridges, this vape pen offers enough power to also handle dry herb and wax vaping attachments. It offers three preset temperature settings, ranging from 3.2 to 4.0 volts, Unlike the EVOD oil pen, there is no dial to turn. Instead, pressing the power button in quick succession will cycle through the available voltage options.
All three of these pens can be found here at vapevetstore.com, where we offer FREE domestic shipping without any minimum order requirement. If you have further questions, our customer service would be happy to assist. Now go find the perfect temperature control vape pen for you!

Disposable vapes often taste better due to their simplicity and consistent performance, as they come pre-filled with premium e-liquids and have fewer components that can affect flavor. The lack of refillable tanks also means there's no flavor mixing, ensuring a clean, pure taste with each use.
