What is a Wax Vapor Pen?

A wax pen vape (also known as concentrate vaporizers) is a portable vaporizer device that primarily lets you vape shatter or wax with it. There are some oil vape pens for sale and dry herb vape pens that allow you to vape shatter or wax as well. Wax vapes are also referred to as dab pens. Those tend to be the more powerful wax vaporizers such as the SteamCloud Box Mod or the Pulsar APX Wax Vaporizer. All wax vapes are typically equipped with either a ceramic or quartz coil. Some can have variable voltage functionality, while others just have a single voltage setting. Some wax pens even function like an electronic nectar collector. It's great to have various ways of vaping wax because there's really only two ways of consuming it: vaping or dabbing.

What is a Quartz Vape Coil?

Ceramic coils are vape coils wrapped around a ceramic rod. The taste is very pure and the ceramic can heat up faster than quartz. Currently, we only carry ceramic coils for our Micro Vape Pen and Yocan Cerum Wax Atomizer.

What is a Wick Vape Coil?

A Wick coil is the first type of vape coil to come out. A wick coil is a coil wrapped around a cotton wick. Many people still use this type of coil, but we suggest buying a ceramic or quartz coil. If you own a Yocan Mak 2-in-1 vape pen, you'll notice the vape coils are wick-style. Another wax pen that uses a wick coil is our AGO Vaporizer Wax Pen. There's nothing wrong with using a wick coil. Some people think it hits fine, while others prefer using ceramic or quartz.

What is a Pancake Vape Coil?

The pancake coil is the only other type of vape coil sold for wax vaporizer pens on the market. The AGO Vaporizer and AGO JR Vape Pen are the only pancake coil vape pens for sale you can use for wax. The taste of the shatter or crumble is very pure when using this type of vape coil. If you don't use these vape pens carefully and you're careless with the vape coils, it can get very messy and you'll need to replace your coils often.

How to use a Wax Pen?

A vape pen for wax is pretty easy to use, except for dealing with the substance part. When it comes to using a wax pen, it's important that you're using a dab tool to load your shatter in the heating coil chamber. Make sure that you're scooping a small piece of shatter or wax with your dab tool. Then gently place the shatter onto the vape coil. Once you've loaded a small amount, you can close up the vape pen, press and hold the power button. Finally, after two seconds, you may begin inhaling.

There are other wax pens where you can change the voltage, such as the Saber Vape or the SteamCloud Mini 2.0. All you have to do is press the power button consecutively 3 times and then the voltage will change. There are typically three total settings: low, medium, and high voltage.

How To Charge a Wax Pen Vape?

There are a couple types of chargers for wax vapor pens. The first type is the micro-USB style which can fit in most portable vaporizer devices. Wax vaporizers such as the Micro Pen, Yocan Pandon, and Yocan Evolve Plus use this type of charger. Then you have USB chargers with atmos threading or 510 threading. The AGO JR or AGO Vaporizer Wax Pen requires an Atmos threaded USB charger. 510 threaded battery chargers only fit 510 threaded batteries. They look very similar to Atmos threaded chargers, but a 510 threaded battery won't fit in an Atmos Threaded charger.

How To Clean a Wax Vape Pen?

Cleaning a wax pen vape is never fun. The best thing you can do is continue to heat up your vape coils until all the residual wax is burned off. Once you've done that, then the only other thing you can do is scrape the walls of the heating elements chamber. Please be careful with the vape coils. If the dab tool pokes at the vape coils with too much force, it can get damaged. If there is too much residual shatter build-up, then it may be time to buy more vape coils. This is why we usually sell ceramic or quartz coils in packs of 3 or 5.
